About Jess
Jess Johnston is a seasonal chef, poet, and lifelong teacher of connection. Raised in Laguna Beach and shaped by years of surfing, travel, and community, Jess creates intimate dining experiences rooted in nature and story. By day, he teaches at Journeys School, building deep relationships with students and families. By night, he gathers people around the table—serving seasonal, multi-course meals paired with poetry and reflection. His work is about more than food; it is about presence, belonging, and nourishing both body and spirit.
